Now on pour — Pie & Beer Day house drop. Dropped Friday, July 24, 2026. We brewed a lemon pie sour for the one day dessert and a pint are legally the same mission. Strata hops, lemon puree, and vanilla — tart filling, soft crust energy, and a shark that doesn’t wait for a fork. Hand-ink art, neon sour splash, house pack story: the pie hit the table, something moved, and the Den got a new favorite.

How We Got Here

Two guys. Two branches. One war. We met in Helmand Province, Afghanistan — forged a brotherhood in the kind of conditions that don't let you be anything but honest. When we came home, life went all kinds of different directions. Then Derik had the idea, and Eric said yes. We built a house for the people who matter — veterans, neighbors, the pack. Named for Comet, Derik's wolfdog. Come have a beer.

2009

Military service. Two branches, one mission. We served, we sacrificed, and somewhere in the dust and heat we figured out who we were — and who we could count on.

2024

Derik had the idea. Eric said yes. First batches brewed, first recipes dialed in. A crew of veterans, neighbors, and believers started forming around the kettle.

2025

Wolfdog opens. 9680 S State St, Sandy, UT. Sandy City's first craft brewery. The Den is open. Same team. New objective.

We didn't set out to open a brewery. We set out to build a place where the people who matter could always find a seat. Named for Comet — Derik's wolfdog, who taught us what it means to run wild and loyal at once.

From the dirt in Helmand to the kettle in Sandy. Same man. Different mission.

Derik ran medicine for Marines in combat, then spent twelve-plus years learning every station of Utah craft beer — packaging floors to master brewer — before he and Eric opened Wolfdog. The path is his. The beer is the proof.
